Open meeting at the Nobel Peace Center on Tuesday June 6, 6 pm with Bertha Lucia Fries.
In Februar 2003 Bertha Lucia Fries attended the private club El Nogal in Bogotá. That night, she went from being an succesfull international consultant, to a victim of the civil war in Colombia, that lasted for more than 50 years. 36 people were killed in the terrorist attack which was done by FARC. Bertha Lucia was on of the 150 that were wounded. She spent 8 years to overcome the physical damage, and then realized there was more to be repaired: the hatred. She initiated a dialogue with her attackers, and in May this year, she met four members of FARC for a reconciliation meeting. A reconciliation ceremony is planned for September in Bogotá.
